And boy, do they hit the mark. With Lucas for instance, there’s no stopping him. He’d get this incredibly intense look which he’d maintain for one-hundredth of a second, and then his face would completely dissipate. He knew exactly how he wanted to present himself.” – Chuck Close
Lucas Samaras is an American artist and postmodernist sculptor. His main subject of photographic works is his own image – expressive and distorted. Like Chuck Close, Samaras works with Polaroid, creating so-called “Photo-Transformations”.
