Expiration Painting (2016) is a series of Plexiglas-framed paintings that reinterpret works by Old Masters. While classical painting traditions sought permanence and meticulous detail, Collishaw subverts this expectation by presenting deliberately incomplete reproductions, mimicking the effect of a printer running out of ink.

This striking contrast between historical ideals of mastery and contemporary notions of impermanence underscores the transient nature of both image and existence. By blending classical imagery with digital imperfection, Collishaw invites viewers to reflect on the ephemerality of time, even in an era that strives for technological precision and permanence.
