Tatintsian Gallery – Leading Contemporary Art Gallery in Dubai Representing International Artists

  • Founded in 1989 by Gary Tatintsian, Tatintsian Gallery is an international contemporary art gallery with over three decades of experience across Berlin, New York, and Moscow. Today, it is based in Dubai, where it operates as a leading contemporary art gallery in the UAE, with a focused presence in the Middle East.

Throughout its history, the gallery has built a reputation for museum-quality exhibitions and for representing leading contemporary artists alongside influential figures of the avant-garde. Its program spans painting, sculpture, photography, and conceptual practices, featuring works by internationally acclaimed artists such as Francis Bacon, Damien Hirst, George Condo, Peter Saul, and Yoshitomo Nara.

Tatintsian Gallery provides access to museum-quality artworks, curated exhibitions, and advisory services for private collectors and institutions, supporting both established and emerging audiences in the contemporary art market.

Located in Dubai Design District (d3) — the centre of the city’s cultural and design community — the gallery is part of one of the UAE’s key cultural hubs. Since opening its new space in 2026, it has strengthened its role within the Dubai art scene, engaging both regional and international audiences and contributing to the development of contemporary art in the region.

  • History

Tatintsian Gallery was founded in Berlin in 1989, where its first space, “Tatunz,” became an important platform for avant-garde and post-Soviet artists, including Alexander Rodchenko, Boris Mikhailov, Ilya Kabakov, and Evgeny Chubarov. In 1991, it was among the first to present works by Zaha Hadid.

In 1998, the gallery expanded to New York, establishing a space in Manhattan and working with artists such as Frank Stella and Judy Pfaff.

In 2005, a space was opened in Moscow, where it became one of the key venues for international contemporary art, with exhibitions by Peter Doig, Georg Baselitz, Christopher Wool, and Cecily Brown. In 2013, the gallery expanded into a major exhibition space in the city centre.

These spaces, spanning three continents, played a significant role in shaping the gallery’s international program and network.

Since establishing its presence in the UAE in 2022, Tatintsian Gallery has developed a focused exhibition program in Dubai, continuing its activities through exhibitions, collaborations, and work with private collections while building on its international history. It offers audiences in the UAE a rare opportunity to encounter museum-level works by internationally recognized artists within the accessible and dynamic format of a contemporary art gallery.
