Damien Hirst | Drawings

May 7 – October 12, 2025 | Albertina Modern, Vienna

This is the first museum exhibition of Hirst’s works on paper and includes preparatory drawings and sketches produced from the 1980s onward.

Presented alongside a selection of related sculptures and paintings, these works offer a glimpse into the creative process behind Hirst’s practice. The exhibition highlights his conceptual engagement with drawing—as a tool for planning, a standalone artwork, or a way to reflect on completed projects. For many of his most iconic series, Hirst used drawing to express ideas he regards as equally important as the finished work.
